To my wonderful clients & their beloved pets,

After much deliberation and a few tears, I have made the extremely difficult decision to retire from veterinary practice as of August 1, 2017.

It’s been 37 years since I started here at Lexington-Bedford Veterinary Hospital as the “newbie” and one of the first female veterinarians hired by Dr. Howard Smith. Little did I know at the time that I’d spend all of my professional life here! These years have been amazing, but it’s time that I go in other directions and pursue projects and activities that have been postponed for too long.

Thank you for all your trust, loyalty and friendship. I feel so proud to have had the opportunity to serve generations of local families for so many years. We’ve been through many ups and downs together; we share many special memories, and I will miss making more with you.

Please be assured that the team of doctors and staff at Lexington-Bedford Veterinary Hospital will continue providing the excellent and loving care that has always been our standard.

Sincerely,

Christine L. Johnston, DVM
